What is the difference between gender roles and gender stereotypes? To my understanding, they are very similar if not the same.

The difference would likely be that gender roles are the different niches that genders have in society that they are socially obligated to abide by. Sort of what they are expected to do.

Stereotypes are likely to just be what people assume about someone's personality or ability based off of their gender.
