Answer:

Among the complaints about the Enlishmen that the author´s grandmother is:

  • The habit of not taking a bath twice a day.
  • That they ate in front of each other.

Explanation:

Ethnocentrism is when people disagree with the culture of other countries, so they have prejudices against people who come from that country. Usually, ethnocentrism is a faithful defense of one's own culture without taking into account what others think; for these people, there are only their values.

For example, we can see that the author's grandmother does not agree that Englishman do not bathe twice a day, and just thinking that they can not bathe is inconceivable to her. All this is because she has other values, customs, and criteria different from the Englishmen but can not accept that it is good to have differences, and this is a clear example of ethnocentrism.

nasty-shy [4]

Answer:

Emergence

Explanation:

A social movement has 4 different stages, according to sociology. These stages are:

  1. Emergence: There is a widespread discontent but not much organizations, some people are discontent but they haven't taken any actions just yet or if they have, these actions are not strategic or collective.
  2. Coalescence: There is a more defined sense of discontent, the people already know why and who is the sense of discontent. Leadership emerges and some actions start to take place. Also the media starts covering these kind of news.
  3. Bureaucratization: The social movement has had some success and they can no longer rely in the members to do all the duties but they need trained staff.
  4. Decline: Also called "institutionalization". It is important to notice that decline doesn't mean failure and some movements go through institutionalization by finding a institutionalized way to protect themselves.

In this example, the period when  a few people try to draw attention to a particular social issue that is not in the public consciousness is clearly describing the stage of emergence.

One of the most successful stories of wildlife conservation in India is that of the Indian Rhino, which almost went extinct at t
Shalnov [3]

The correct answer is C. Controlling  mass poaching at Kaziranga

Explanation:

The main factor for the situation of Indian Rhino species during the 19th century was the mass poaching of this species. This occurred because during this time hunting as a sport was quite popular and rhinos were hunted due to their horns, which were considered to have special medicinal properties. Due to this, to save Indian Rhinos one key factor was to make the hunting of rhinos illegal and in general to control mass poaching in the Kaziranga zone. These two strategies make the species to slowly recover and avoid extinction. According to this, the option that describes a critical step in this conservation plant is C.
