In our society the word discrimination as made a huge impact in the minds of the people who has practice that in olden days. It may affect the psyche of an individual or maybe of group of people belongs to particular race or religion or colour of people etc.

But now people have realised that the practising discrimination would affect the society and psychology of the people who are affected by the mistreatment. Now law has been enacted to protect from the people from the social system which practices the unequal treatments.  

<u>Examples of institutionalized discrimination: </u>

In the case of Plessey vs. Ferguson the supreme court of USA as given a verdict that African Americans and non-African Americans should be given separate and equal public facilities. It is a verdict which has changed the society which was practicing institutionalized discrimination.
