Darwins observations about the fossils support his theory of the tree of life which states we all derive from the same one spark of life. so when he found the fossils in the mountain and it closely resembled animals he had seen on his voyages so this made his hypothesis more believable.

Hence, the vegetation is found to be drought resistant. The 3 plants mentioned are known to be naturally drought resistant, hence it is in this biome that it thrives and survives best.
