According to the Not Too Big Enough article, what are some of the sources of scale economies in
Svet_ta [14]

According to the <em>"Not Too Big Enough" </em>article, some of the <em>sources of </em><em>scale economies</em><em> in the banking and finance industry</em> are as follows:

1. Bigger banks can spread their investment (fixed) costs over more output, thereby <em>reducing the </em><em>cost per unit </em><em>and making it impossible for </em><em>smaller banks </em><em>to compete in the market</em>. Most often, the smaller banks cannot afford investments in modern banking computing power and systems management.

2. Bigger banks can <em>consolidate banking functions</em> with the <em>elimination of redundancies </em>after each merger and acquisition. The cost of redundancies also gives them economies of scale.

3. Bigger banks have access to <em>larger pools of </em>deposits and will not engage in borrowing at higher costs. Smaller banks cannot tow this line because of their small scale, lacking the required funding mix.

4. Finally, advertising works best where a bank has a large geographic spread. The cost of advertising over a large area is worth it, unlike when a small bank markets its services by advertising.

2. These economies of scale mean that Oligopolies are increasing on Wall Street, and there will be further consolidations of smaller banks. Of course, every small bank would like to engage in mergers and acquisitions to grab a share of the scale economies.

Thus, <em>as banks grow large</em>, they should be mindful that enjoying the scale economies comes with the risk of crumbling like the banks regarded as <em>"too big to fail" </em>when they build on a pack of cards.

The ethical relativism principle represents that there is no means to identify between right and wrong in morality, while the moral relativism principle declares that there is no manner to differentiate between right and wrong in morality.

<h3>What is ethical and Moral relativism?</h3>

Morality is said to be relative to one's culture's norms, according to ethical relativism. To put it another way, the moral rules of the society in which a process is carried out decide whether it is proper or wrong.

A morally correct behavior in one civilization may be ethically incorrect in another.  Acceptance of a fact-value gap has driven most kinds of ethical non-cognitivism, such as moral relativism.

Moral relativism, unlike ethical non-cognitivism, does not deny that moral assertions can be true; rather, it denies that they can be made true by an objective, transcultural moral order.

Therefore, the ethical and Moral relativism are the correct answers of the given problem.

Lana71 [14]

Answer:

The company’s inventory be reported on the balance sheet as $3,150.

Explanation:

GAAP and IFRS requires that the inventory of the company should be recorded as Lower cost and Net realizable value of the inventory.

According to given data

Available Inventory = 210 units

Cost of Inventory = 210 units x $20 = $4,200

Net realizable value is the value of the inventory which can be recovered on the immediate sale. the current market value of the inventory is $15.

So,

Net realizable value is = 2,100 units x $15 = $3,150

As the Net realizable value is lower than the cost of the inventory, $3,150 should be reported as inventory on the balance sheet.

Prior to the write off of a $500 customer account, Athena Company had the following account balances: Accounts receivable $19,60
Effectus [21]

Answer:

Net accounts receivable Before $18,600 and  After $18,600

Explanation:

solution

we know that here

net accounts receivable before write-off

Accounts Receivable = $19,600

and Allowance for doubtful debt = $1,000

so Net accounts receivable =  $19,600 - $1,000 =  $18,600

so

Journal Entry for write off is here

Allowance for doubtful Accounts = $500

Accounts Receivable = $500

and

Net accounts receivable after write off is

Accounts Receivable= $19,100

and

Allowance for doubtful debt= $500

so Net accounts receivable = $19,100 - $500

Net accounts receivable = 8,600

so Net accounts receivable Before $18,600 and  After $18,600
