Which of the following are true?
A) Katie is paying the smaller price of $1.50 per cupcake.
B)Sarah is paying the smaller price of $1.25 per cupcake.
C) Katie is paying $0.25 per cupcake more than Sarah.

A is true and D is true because 3 divided by 2 is 1.5 and x is 1 ( the number of cupcakes she is buying) so the total she is paying for is 1.50 while if you notice the pattern in cake me they are charging 1.75 per cupcake. (7.00 - 1.75 = 5.25)

Solve the inequality: (x+3)(x−4)<−12
melamori03 [73]

Answer:

0<x<1

Step-by-step explanation:

(x+3)(x−4)<−12

FOIL

x^2 -4x+3x -12 <-12

x^2 -x -12 <-12

Add 12 to each side

x^2 -x -12+12 <-12+12

x^2 -x <0

Factor out an x

x(x-1) <0

Using the zero product property

x(x-1) =0

x=0  x-1=0

x=0  x=1

Check the ranges

x<0

x(x-1) <0

- * - >0

False

0<x<1

x(x-1) <0

+ * - <0

True

x>1

x(x-1) <0

+ * + >0

False

Solve the system of equations. 8x – 3y = 1 –2x + 3y = 11 A. (–1, –3) B. (–1, 3) C. (2, 5) D. (5, 2)
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

C. (2, 5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Looking at the answer choices, you can see that solving for y will tell you which choice is correct. We can eliminate x from the equations by adding 4 times the second equation to the first:

(8x -3y) +4(-2x +3y) = (1) +4(11) . . . . . adding the equations to eliminate x

9y = 45 . . . simplified; next we divide by 9

y = 5 . . . . . matches choice C

_____

Check

8(2) -3(5) = 16 -15 = 1

-2(2) +3(5) = -4 +15 = 11 . . . . the answer checks OK in both equations

Can someone demonstrate the process for solving y= 1/2x +4
mash [69]
Basically 1/2 equals 2 and times x equals 2x. X is a variable an unknown number so 2x +4 and that's how you get your answer
