Protists are eukaryotic simple organisms which range in complexity from unicellular to multicellular types. The protists are organisms which exhibit some of the characteristics which are commonly found in plants and animals because of this reason it is difficult to classify protists, in plant or animal kingdom. Therefore, they are placed in the separate kingdom of Protista.
Plant like protists exhibit chlorophyll pigment which can also be found in the case of the plants. This pigment helps in trapping the light energy from sun which is necessary for performing photosynthesis. Example of protists which perform photosynthesis are dinoflagellates, diatoms, euglenophytes and chrysophytes.
A peninsula is mostly surrounded by mass around most of its coastline. It can also be referred to as a headland. The part that is not surrounded is connected to the larger continental landmass. Another example of the peninsula is the Korean peninsula and the Floridian Peninsula.
