The answer is (18, 2) this is because the original figure JKLM used the rule (x+13, y-3) sorry not sure if I put that rule in the correct order.

The correct answer is:

B. (18, 2)

Explanation:

The points of the pre-image JKLM are:

J(-7, -6); K(-4, -6); L(-4, -2); and M(-7, -2).

The points of image J'K'L'M' are:

J'(6, -9); K'(9, -9); L'(9, -5); and M'(6, -5).

Each point has moved horizontally 13 units and vertically -3 units; this gives us the translation <13, -3>.

Applying this to T, we have:

T'(5+13, 5-3) = (18, 2)

PLEASE HELP WITH THIS I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO SOLVE!!!!
VARVARA [1.3K]
Write the vertex form of the equation and find the necessary coefficient to make it work.
.. y = a*(x +3)^2 -2
.. = ax^2 +6ax +9a -2

You require the y-intercept to be 7. So, for x=0, you have
.. 9a -2 = 7
.. 9a = 9
.. a = 1

The equation you seek is
.. y = x^2 +6x +7
