What is the slope of (-7,5) and (5,-1)

Mathematics

4 0

Answer:

-1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Method 1)

Use the graph

You must go from point (-7, 5) to point (5, -1) by using only vertical and horizontal paths.

Start at point (-7, 5).

Go down 6 units. That means a rise of -6.

Now go right 12 units to point (5, 1)

That is a run of 12 units.

slope = rise/run = -6/12 = -1/2

Method 2)

Use the slope formula

slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) = [5 - (1)]/(-7 - 5) = (5 + 1)/(-12) = 6/(-12) = -1/2

Ok so I’m thinking that s = 93 because first I multiply first sides of the equation by -4, which was s-61=32. Then I moved the constant to the right hand side and change its sign which will be s=32+61. After I did all of that I added the numbers together and got 93..... therefore s=93

5 < 4x = 2> 3x PLEASE HELP
Galina-37 [17]
Looks fishy to me, the way this problem combines <, = and > symbols.

But anyway. Subtract 3x from both sides. You'll get

5 < x = 2 > 0      2 > 0 is true, but that's a different type of math problem (true or false).    If you decide to substitute '1' for 2 > 0, then the "1" says "TRUE."

Then 5 < x = true, so you must find x values that are larger than 5.

That would be (5, infinity)

Please go back and ensure that you have copied down the original problem exactly as it appears.
