Answer:

radius- 2 inches

height- 3 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation for the volume of a cylinder is V= \pir^{2} (h)

the problem gives you the diamater which is 4 inches, the radius will simply be the diamater divided in half resulting in the radius being 2 inches.

So now you plug in the raidus (2 inches) to the equation of the volume of the cylinder and the problem already gave you the volume of the cylinder which is 12\pi so you plug that in as well

12\pi=\pi2^{2}(h)

simplify to get the height (the pies cancel out and you divide 12 by 4 because 2^2 is 4)

Answer:

See below

Step-by-step explanation:

She could have each student in the class write his or her name on a slip of paper and put it in a bowl. Then, she could shake the bowl and pull out any slip of paper with a student's name on it. After 3 times, the random sample would be over, and Mrs. Purdue would have her 3 representatives.

Find the tenth term in the following geometric sequence. 8, 4, 2, 1, . . .
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

  c)  0.0156

Step-by-step explanation:

The general term a[n] of a geometric sequence is given in terms of the first term a[1] and common ratio r as ...

  a[n] = a[1]r^(n-1)

The given sequence has an initial term of a[1]=8 and a common ratio of 4/8=1/2. Then the general term is ...

  a[n] = 8(1/2)^(n-1)

The 10th term is then ...

  a[10] = 8(1/2)^(10-1) = 8(1/2)^9 = 8/512

  a[10] = 0.015625 ≈ 0.0156
