There is decrease of 35% in the price of silver in the past 6 months.

<u> Solution: </u>

Given that

Price of silver went from $26.40 a troy ounce down to $17.16 a troy ounce during past 6 months need to represent this decrease in percentage

Price of silver before 6 months = initial price = $26.40

Price of silver now = current price = $17.16

Difference in price in 6 months = 26.40 – 17.16 = $9.24

\text { Decrease in percentage }=\frac{\text { Diffrence in } 6 \text { months }}{\text { Initial price }} \times 100

\begin{array}{l}{=\frac{9.24}{26.4} \times 100} \\\\ {=0.35 \times 100=35 \%}\end{array}

Hence there is decrease of 35% in the price of silver in the past 6 months.

Will the quotient of 2÷1/3 be smaller or bigger than each term? Explain in words.
RSB [31]
In short, if the denominator is a decimal or a fraction and you have an integer in the numerator, the numerator gets blown up.

so if you divide by 1/2, the numerator blows up to twice as large, if you divide by 1/5, to five times as large, if you divide by 1/3... well, let's see,

\bf 2\div \cfrac{1}{3}\implies \cfrac{2}{1}\div \cfrac{1}{3}\implies \cfrac{2}{1}\cdot \cfrac{3}{1}\implies \cfrac{6}{1}\implies 6

why is that?  well, you're dividing, and so is saying "how many times 1/3 goes into 2"?

well, 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 3/3 or 1, so in 1 whole, the fraction goes there 3 times, so in 2 wholes, it'll be 6 times.

Which of the following statements is true?
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

(0,0) is a solution to n=m and n=4m

Step-by-step explanation:

For the first equation, If u insert 0 as m into n=m

n=(0) then n will equal 0.

For the second equation, if u insert 0 as m in n=4m

n=4(0) then n will also equal 0.

So the answer is (0,0) is a solution to n=m and to n=4m

Hope this helps :)
