The bourgeoisie were the independent people who lived in cities and didn't have to worry about Aristocracy or their land or anything and since they were getting richer their power started increasing. The aristocracy wanted to give political rights to commoners because then they could support them in the struggle of old aristocracy versus the bourgeoisie.</span>
