Answer:

Bar and Lexical scale

Explanation:

A map is the two-dimensional representation of the earth, that shows the features and countries and the water bodies on earth with proper latitude and longitudes. The land areas are highlighted by different colors except blue as blue color is used to indicate the oceans and other water bodies on earth.

These maps are comprised of north direction, index and the scale of maps.

A map scale is defined as the ratio between the distance on a map to the actual distance of the ground surface. It is given on the outer edge of maps. This map scale enables us to calculate the actual distance on the earth's surface.

The scale of a map is generally of two types. They are-

1) Bar scale- here it is a visual scale, directly measurable and is quite commonly used.

2) Lexical scale- here it is a non-visual scale and calculations are made by using conversions.

What mass of water is required to react completely with 157.35 g CO2? (Molar mass of H2O = 18.02 g/mol; molar mass of CO2 = 44.0
Ghella [55]

You must use 64.43 g H₂O.

Balanced chemical equation: H₂O + CO₂ → H₂CO₃

Moles of CO₂ = 157.35 g CO₂ × (1 mol CO₂/44.01 g CO₂) = 3.5753 mol CO₂

Moles of H₂O = 3.5753 mol CO₂ × (1 mol H₂O/1 mol CO₂) = 3.5753 mol Fe

Mass of H₂O = 3.5753 mol H₂O × (18.02 g H₂O /1 mol H₂O) = 64.43 g H₂O

Zac releases the air from a balloon. Which statement best describes what will happen to the air that was inside the balloon?
ad-work [718]
The correct answer is the last option. When Zac releases the air from a balloon, it will expand to fill the room. It will not expand in the sense that molecules will be big but the molecules will be more spread out into the room and more air molecules will be present to fill the room.

Ammonia can be produced in the laboratory by heating ammonium chloride
AnnyKZ [126]

Answer:

Mass = 2.89 g

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of NH₄Cl = 8.939 g

Mass of Ca(OH)₂ = 7.48 g

Mass of ammonia produced = ?

Solution:

2NH₄Cl   +  Ca(OH)₂     →    CaCl₂ + 2NH₃ + 2H₂O

Number of moles of NH₄Cl:

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

Number of moles = 8.939 g / 53.5 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.17 mol

Number of moles of Ca(OH)₂ :

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

Number of moles = 7.48 g / 74.1 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.10 mol

Now we will compare the moles of ammonia with both reactant.

                      NH₄Cl          :          NH₃

                          2              :           2

                         0.17          :          0.17

                   Ca(OH)₂         :          NH₃

                        1                :           2

                    0.10              :          2/1×0.10 = 0.2 mol

Less number of moles of ammonia are produced by ammonium chloride it will act as limiting reactant.

Mass of ammonia:

Mass = number of moles × molar mass

Mass = 0.17 mol × 17 g/mol

Mass = 2.89 g
