How do you find the x-intercepts using factoring and the zero product property?​

Answer:

The zero product property states that if ab=0 , then either a=0 or b=0.

So when it comes to factors, you may have something that looks like this:

(x-1)(x+5)=0

With the property you can know that this means that you should set each factor to 0.

x-1=0 so x=1

x+5=0 so x=-5

This gives you the 2 x-intercepts of the equation 1 and -5
