It was on such an island in the third summer of its yellow green that we built our watch fire. Not in the thicket of dancing willow wands, but on the level terrace of fine sand which has been added that spring a little new bit of world beautifully ridged with ripple marks and strewn with the tiny skeletons of turtles and fish all as white and dry as if they had been expertly cured. We had been careful not to mar the freshness of the place although we often swam to it on summer evenings and lay on the sand to rest.

CAN SOMEONE DO THIS ASAP IN YOUR OWN WORDS
Margaret [11]
I hope this helps you.

Dwight Moody’s different works of literature really intrigued me. His quote: “Character is what you are in the dark” is very true. The word Character can be used in different ways, For example, that person is a real Character, in this case: that person has a very unique personality. I personally view it as you are truly yourself when there is no around to help you in your darkest times. You learn who you are when your character or “nature” shows. This applies to the quote is “All it takes is a beautiful fake smile to hide an injured soul and they will never notice how broken you really are.”

Leslie would probably have come with us if she didn’t work all summer. What is the verb phrase?
Dmitry [639]

Answer: would probably have come with us.

A verb phrase consists of a main verb with its auxiliaries and its objects, complements or other modifiers. In this case:

 • would, have: auxiliary verb.
 • probably: adverb (modifier).
 • come: main verb.
 • with us: complement.

(Although this would be the most accepted definition, different theories could include different elements in a verbal phrase).
