This volcano is located in the northwestern part of the United States, bellow the Yellowstone National Park. This hot spot manages to push magma through the continental crust, thus creating a hot-spot volcano on the land. As the North American plate moves, it manages to stretch the caldera bit by bit, making it larger on area. There's lot of fears about this volcano, as it is believed that an explosion of it can have big global negative effects.
