Answer: The correct answer is B) 23 in males.

In human beings, 23rd pair of chromosome, which is also called sex chromosomes is different amongst males.

It is XY in males whereas it is same in females that is XX.

23rd is the only homologous pair that is different in males as the presence of Y chromosomes determines the male sex. Chromosome pair 1- 22 are same in both males and females and are called autosomes.

In normal humans, sex cells contain the _________ number of chromosomes.
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer: Haploid number

In normal humans, sex cells contain the diploid number of chromosomes

Explanation;

Human somatic cells or body cells are diploid such that they contain two sets of 23 chromosomes which gives a total of 23 chromosomes. Examples of somatic cells in the body that are diploid include, epithelial cells, somatic cells, liver cells, blood cells, nerve cells, etc.

However, mature sex cells are haploid, which means they have one set of 23 chromosomes which means they have 23 chromosomes. Sex cells are the results of meiosis type of cell division in which a diploid cell divides to form four daughter cells that are haploid.

The phrase “too large or too charged” is a helpful way to remember what kinds of molecules need to cross the cell membrane via a
saveliy_v [14]

Answer:

Due to their hole size.

Explanation:

Some molecules can pass directly through the phospholipid bilayer because of their small size which can easily pass through the small holes of phospholipid bilayer, while those that are too large or too charged need to pass through a membrane protein because membrane protein has a large holes through which large molecules can easily pass through the semi-permeable membrane of the cell by active or passive transport.

Base your answer to the question on the passage below and on your knowledge of biology
Delvig [45]

Darwin concluded that the finches all shared a common ancestor but had  developed different beak structures.  The second sentence best describes as an ecosystem.

Explanation:

  • When Charles Darwin traveled to the Galapagos Islands, he observed 14 distinct varieties of finches on the islands Darwin also observed that each finch variety  ate a different type of food and lived in a slightly different habitat from the other finches, Darwin concluded that the finches all shared a common ancestor but had  developed different beak structures. The second sentence best describes as an ecosystem.
  • An ecosystem is a huge group of living organism such as plants, animals, micro-organisms in a particular area.
  • An ecosystem is a community of living organisms related with the nonliving components in the  environment, together interacting as a system.
  • its abiotic constituents, includes minerals, climate, soil, water, sunlight, and all other nonliving elements, and its biotic constituents, consists of all its living members.
