Equation in vertex form, y= (-1/4) x² + 4

Step-by-step explanation:

we have the equation,

y = ax² + 4     ( we need to find "a")

Now we have,

   2 = a(4)2 + 4

   2 = a (8)+ 4

   2-4 = 8a

   -2= 8a

   a= -1/4

Substituting the value of "a" in the equation, we have

           y = (-1/4)(x- 0)² + 4  (or) y= (-1/4) x² + 4

The parabola is opens downward. Therefore the vertex is above the x-axis and then the parabola passes through a point below the x-axis.

       Equation in vertex form= y= (-1/4) x² + 4

What is the perimeter of a square that measures 12 centimeters on one side
Ahat [919]
-- "Perimeter" means the distance all the way round the shape.

-- A square has 4 sides, and they're all the same length.

-- If one side is 12 cm long, then all 4 of them are, and the distance
all the way around the square is (4 x 12) cm.
