Consider it under a triangle,
So, Slant height will be hypotenuse, and height will be perpendicular & base.

We know,base diagonal = √2 * base
So, 16√2 = √2 * b
b = 16

Now, substitute it into the expression:
h² = 7² + 16²
h² = 49 + 256
h = √305
h = 17.5   [ To nearest tenth ]

In short, Your Answer would be: 17.5 cm

Hope this helps!

A coordinate plane with a line passing through (negative 4, 3), (0, 1), and (4, negative 1). Which linear function is represente
9966 [12]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If these 3 points are collinear, then we can find the slope of the linear function using any 2 of those points.  Suppose we use (-4, 3) and (0, 1):

As we move from (-4, 3) to (0, 1), x increases by 4 and y decreases by 2.  Hence, the slope of this lilne is m  = rise/run = -2/4, or m = -1/2.

Using the slope-intercept formula y = mx + b and replacing y with 1, x with 0 and m with -1/2, we get:

1 = (-1/2)(0) + b, or b = 1.  Then the desired equation is y = f(x) = (-1/2)x + 1

A right triangle. If AC = 7 and BC = 8, find AB. Leave your answer in simplest radical form.
harkovskaia [24]

We don't know whether those two sides are both legs
of the right triangle, or if  BC  is the hypotenuse.

If  AC  and  BC  are both legs, then

           AB = √ (AC² + BC²)
                 =  √ (7² + 8²)
                 =  √ (49 + 64)  =  √ 113 .

If  BC  is the hypotenuse of the right triangle, then

           AB = √ (BC² - AC²)
                 =  √ (8² - 7²)
                 =  √ (64 - 49)  =  √ 15 .
