3(m + n) - 5(2m - n)    |use distributive property a(b +/- c) = ab +/- ac

= 3m + 3n - 10m + 5n

= (3m - 10m) + (3n + 5n)

= -7m + 8n

= 8n - 7m

A rental car company charges $77. 50 per day to rent a car and $0. 14 for every mile
muminat

77.5d + .14m

m = 425

.14 * 425 = 59.5

77.5d + 59.5 ≤ 230

77.5d ≤ 170.5

d ≤ 170.5/77.5

d ≤ 2.2

find (a) the area and (b) the circumference of each circle using π=3.14. Round to the hundredths' place. 1. the diameter of the
Arada [10]

area = pi x r^2

circumference = 2x pi x r or pi x d

1st one diameter = 9.5 cm

so radius = 9.5/2 = 4.75

area = 3.14 x 4.75^2 = 70.85 square cm

circumference = 3.14 x 9.5 = 29.83 cm

2nd one radius = 4

area = 3.14 x 4^2 = 50.25 square cm

circumference = 2 x 3.14 x 4 = 25.12 cm
