The x-intercept also known as the root of a quadratic can be found by solving the equation with respect to x.

III is the most useful for finding the roots
you would simply equate each term to

So y= x + 6                               AND                    y= x - 8
     0= x + 6                                                           0= x - 8
      x= -6                                                                x= 8

: . x-intercepts are x= -6 & x= 8

Gym A charges $60 a month plus $5 per visit. The monthly cost at Gym B is represented by y = 7x + 40, where x is the number of v
Anarel [89]

Answer:

See the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Gym A charges $60 a month plus $5 per visit

let the number of visits be x, and the total charge be y

Hence the total charge is expressed as

y=5x+60--------------1

Gym B is represented by

y = 7x + 40-----------2

Although I can not find any option, we can conclude that gym A monthly charge is $20  more expensive than gym B

The slope of the line that passes through the points (9, 11) and (3,6) is what
Natasha_Volkova [10]
Formula for slope (m) is:

(y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

Our points are (9, 11) and (3, 6).

Therefore we can determine:

y2 = 6
y1 = 11
x2 = 3
x1 = 9

Substitute these into the formula:

(y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

(6 - 11) / (3 - 9)

Solve:

(6 - 11) / (3 - 9)

-5 / -6

Reduce the fraction with -1:

Slope (m) = 5 / 6
