Below is a labeled rectangle:

length = w + 20

we know length is 36 so we plug that in:

36 = w + 20

We need to isolate w and to do that we must subtract 20 from both sides:

(36 - 20) = w + (20 - 20)

16 = w + 0

w = 16

width is 16 feet

Hope this helped!

BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

a) 0.54 = 54% probability that a randomly selected person will feel guilty for either wasting food or leaving lights on when not in a room or both.

b) 0.46 = 46% probability that a randomly selected person will not feel guilty for either of these reasons

Step-by-step explanation:

We use Venn's Equations for probabilities.

I am going to say that:

P(A) is the probability that a randomly selected person will feel guilty about wasting food.

P(B) is the probability that a randomly selected person will feel guilty about leaving lights on when not in a room.

0.12 probability that a randomly selected person will feel guilty for both of these reasons.

This means that P(A \cap B) = 0.12

0.27 probability that a randomly selected person will feel guilty about leaving lights on when not in a room.

This means that P(B) = 0.27

0.39 probability that a randomly selected person will feel guilty about wasting food

This means that P(A) = 0.39

a. What is the probability that a randomly selected person will feel guilty for either wasting food or leaving lights on when not in a room or both (to 2 decimals)?

P(A \cup B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A \cap B) = 0.39 + 0.27 - 0.12 = 0.54

0.54 = 54% probability that a randomly selected person will feel guilty for either wasting food or leaving lights on when not in a room or both.

b. What is the probability that a randomly selected person will not feel guilty for either of these reasons (to 2 decimals)?

p = 1 - P(A \cup B) = 1 - 0.54 = 0.46

0.46 = 46% probability that a randomly selected person will not feel guilty for either of these reasons

Feliz [49]

Alang must visit 8 times to the theatre to earn a free movie ticket.

What is an expression?

The mathematical expression is the combination of numerical variables and operations denoted by addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division signs.

Mathematical symbols can be used to represent numbers (constants), variables, operations, functions, brackets, punctuation, and grouping. They can also be used to denote the logical syntax's operation order and other properties.

Given that Alang has a points card for a movie theatre. He receives 55 reward points just for signing up. He earns 3.5 points for each visit to the movie theatre. He needs 83 points for a free movie ticket.

Form an equation and calculate the number of tickets:-

55 + 3.5N = 83

3.5 N = 83 - 55

3.5N = 28

N = 28 / 3.5

N = 8

Therefore, Alang must visit 8 times to the theatre to earn a free movie ticket.

How to solve 3+4(-4-2)+5=-16
masha68 [24]

Answer:

-16=-16

Step-by-step explanation:

You would first do (-4-2) which would be (-6), after you would multiply (-6) by 4 which comes out to be -24, after you would add 3 which would look like this -24+3 but since its a negative it would come out to be -21 then you would do the same thing with 5, it would look like this -21 + 5 but since its negative it would be -16. I hope this helped :)
