Answer:

The graph of y=-3x^n is the reflection of the graph of y=3x^n about the x axis.

Step-by-step explanation:

If you graph these two functions, then you will notice that they look similar. for example the points of (1,-3) on graph y=-3x^n and point (-1,-3) on graph y=3x^n. They have the same y value but just the reflection of the x value. I hope this helped !!

Answer:

Option A -  The graph of y=-3x^n  is the reflection of the graph of y=3x^n  about the y axis.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Graph 1- y=-3x^n

             Graph 2 - y=3x^n

To find : Which statement best compares the graph

Solution : In graph 1 there is a reflection of the graph 2 about y axis

Reflection about y-axis - The reflection of the point (x,y) across

the y-axis is the point (-x,y).

So, In graph 2  y=3x^n point is (x,y).

In graph 1  y=-3x^n point is (-x,y)

Therefore, The graph of y=-3x^n  is the reflection of the graph of y=3x^n  about the y axis. (Refer the attached graph)

Hence, Option A is correct.

What is the approximate radius of the disc if the area is 78.5 square inches?
Shtirlitz [24]

\bf \textit{area of a circle}\\\\ A=\pi r^2~~ \begin{cases} r=radius\\[-0.5em] \hrulefill\\ A=78.5 \end{cases}\implies 78.5=\pi r^2\implies \cfrac{78.5}{\pi }=r^2 \\\\\\ \sqrt{\cfrac{78.5}{\pi }}=r\implies 4.99873244587\approx r

Can someone help with these problem please?
yawa3891 [41]
The missing exponent is -3. The exponent on the x variable only applies to x, so with that in mind, only x is in the denominator. This means that its exponent needs to be a negative. A negative exponent flips its base to the reciprocal making x into 1/x. When multiplying only an exponent, you multiply the two exponents. For example: (y^4)^2 = y^8. 2 times 3 is 6.

The missing exponent is -3. A negative exponent flips the base to its reciprocal making 2x/3 into 3/2x, and 3^3 is 27. The same applies to 2x. (2x)^3 is 8x^3.

The other one’s missing exponent is 2. As, mention before, a negative exponent results in flipping the base to its reciprocal making 1/3 into 3. 3^3 is 27. You can figure out which exponent make 3 into 9 which is 2.
Hope this helped.
