Hello!

The first question is looking for the vertex form of a quadratic. From the vertex form, you can find the extreme value of the equation, or the vertex.

Vertex form is defined as y = a(x - h)² + k, where (h, k) is the vertex.

To convert to vertex form, first use the distributive property to take out the 3 from the first two terms.

y = 3x² + 30x + 71

y = 3(x² + 10x) + 71

Now, complete the square for the equation inside the parenthesis. This can be done by seeing which number makes a perfect binomial. Remember that you must multiply it by 3 as there is the 3 outside the parenthesis.

y + 75 = 3(x² + 10x) + 75 + 71

y + 75 = 3(x² + 10x) + 3(25) + 71

y + 75 = 3(x² + 10x + 25) + 71

y = 3(x² + 10x + 25) - 4

And then, turn the equation into a perfect square binomial.

y = 3(x + 5)² - 4

Now you have your vertex form.

Looking at the values, -5 is h and -4 is k (as recall in the original equation, you are subtracting h and adding k).

Therefore, the vertex is (-5, -4).

Hope this helped!

First picture:

2 and 7 are alternate exterior angles, which when added together need to equal 180 degrees.

Angle 7 = 180 - 146 = 34

Answer is B.34

Second picture:

Angle 8 = 48

Angle 8  + angle 7 = 180

Angle 7 = 180 - 49 =  131

Angle 5 and angle 7 are vertical angle, so angle 5 = angle 7 = 131

Angle 6 is a vertical angle to angle 8 so = 49

Angle 1 = angle 5 = 131

Angle 2 = angle 6 = 49

Angle 3 = angle 7 = 131

Angle 4 = angle 8 = 49

Luiza is jumping on a trampoline.
lyudmila [28]

Answer:

The second time when Luiza reaches a height of 1.2 m = 2 08 s

Step-by-step explanation:

Complete Question

Luiza is jumping on a trampoline. Ht models her distance above the ground (in m) t seconds after she starts jumping. Here, the angle is entered in radians.

H(t) = -0.6 cos (2pi/2.5)t + 1.5.

What is the second time when Luiza reaches a height of 1.2 m? Round your final answer to the nearest hundredth of a second.

Solution

Luiza is jumping on trampolines and her height above the levelled ground at any time, t, is given as

H(t) = -0.6cos⁡(2π/2.5)t + 1.5

What is t when H = 1.2 m

1.2 = -0.6cos⁡(2π/2.5)t + 1.5

0.6cos⁡(2π/2.5)t = 1.2 - 1.5 = -0.3

Cos (2π/2.5)t = (0.3/0.6) = 0.5

Note that in radians,

Cos (π/3) = 0.5

This is the first time, the second time that cos θ = 0.5 is in the fourth quadrant,

Cos (5π/3) = 0.5

So,

Cos (2π/2.5)t = Cos (5π/3)

(2π/2.5)t = (5π/3)

(2/2.5) × t = (5/3)

t = (5/3) × (2.5/2) = 2.0833333 = 2.08 s to the neareast hundredth of a second.

Hope this Helps!!!
