I'm assuming we can say each Democrat, Republican, and Independent are the same element.

Since there are 12 seats, we can seat them in 12! different ways, assuming straight line.
\text{Total(no restrictions): } 12!

However, the four democrats are the same element, since we only care about the different parties. Using this same logic, the 5 Republicans can swap without us knowing and the 3 Independents, as well.

Thus, we've overcounted by a factor of 4! 5! 3!, because each element are identical.

To counter this, we divide by the number of elements repeated:
\text{Total ways: } \frac{12!}{4!5!3!} = 27,720

fiasKO [112]
<h3><u>Question:</u></h3>

Cylinders A and B are similar solids. The base of cylinder A has a circumference of 4π units. The base of cylinder B has an area of 9π units.

The dimensions of cylinder A are multiplied by what factor to produce the corresponding dimensions of cylinder B?

<h3><u>Answer:</u></h3>

Dimensions of cylinder A are multiplied by \frac{3}{2}  to produce the corresponding dimensions of cylinder B

<h3><u>Solution:</u></h3>

Cylinders A and B are similar solids.

The base of cylinder A has a circumference of 4 \pi units

The base of cylinder B has an area of 9 \pi units

Let "x" be the required factor

From given question,

Dimensions of cylinder A are multiplied by what factor to produce the corresponding dimensions of cylinder B

Therefore, we can say,

\text{Dimensions of cylinder A} \times x = \text{Dimensions of cylinder B }

<h3><u>Cylinder A:</u></h3>

The circumference of base of cylinder (circle ) is given as:

C = 2 \pi r

Where "r" is the radius of circle

Given that  base of cylinder A has a circumference of 4 \pi units

Therefore,

4 \pi = 2 \pi r\\\\r = 2

Thus the dimension of cylinder A is radius = 2 units

<h3><u>Cylinder B:</u></h3>

The area of base of cylinder (circle) is given as:

A = \pi r^2

Given that,  the base of cylinder B has an area of 9 \pi units

Therefore,

\pi r^2 = 9 \pi\\\\r^2 = 9\\\\r = 3

Thus the dimension of cylinder B is radius = 3 units

\text{Dimensions of cylinder A} \times x = \text{Dimensions of cylinder B }\\\\2 \times x = 3\\\\x = \frac{3}{2}

Thus dimensions of cylinder A are multiplied by \frac{3}{2}  to produce the corresponding dimensions of cylinder B

Assume that hybridization experiments are conducted with peas having the property that for offspring, there is a 0.75 probabilit
Verdich [7]

Answer:

a) Standard Deviation = 2.74

b) Significantly Low = values below 24.52 (or equal)

Significantly High = values above 35.48 (or equal)

Step-by-step explanation:

This is binomial probability distribution problem.

Where n = 40 [groups of 40, total trials]

p = 0.75 [probability of success]

a)

The formula for standard deviation is:

Standard \ Deviation = \sqrt{np(1-p)}

We know  n = 40 and p = 0.75, so the standard deviation is:

Standard \ Deviation = \sqrt{np(1-p)} \\Standard \ Deviation = \sqrt{(40)(0.75)(1-0.75)}\\ Standard \ Deviation = 2.74

b)

the range rule of thumb tells us that usual range of values is within 2 standard deviation of the mean. First let's calculate mean.

We know,

Mean = n * p = 40 * 0.75 = 30

So

Mean - 2* Standard Deviation = 30 - 2(2.74) = 24.52

and

Mean + 2* Standard Deviation = 30 + 2(2.74) = 35.48

Significantly Low = values below 24.52 (or equal)

Significantly High = values above 35.48 (or equal)
