Northerners_____ counting slaves as part of the population if they had no rights, while southerners _____ counting slaves. Accor
polet [3.4K]

Answer:

Northerners opposed counting slaves as part of the population if they had no rights, while southerners supported counting slaves. According to the compromise, five slaves would count as three free persons when calculating how many representatives each state received in the House of Representatives.

Explanation:

The Three-Fifths Compromise was a compromise established during the 1787 Philadelphia Convention between the colonies of the North and the South. This compromise considered, in the rules for counting people represented in the House of Representatives, that a slave was counted up to three fifths of a free man.

The question was important, as the population count would then be used to determine the number of seats each state would have in the US House of Representatives. The Compromise gave a disproportionate representation of the slave states in the House of Representatives compared to the voters in the free states until the Civil War.

What was trench warfare in simple words please
Harman [31]

Trench warfare was the main style of war during World War I. It consisted of both sides of the war, called fronts, digging trenches in the ground for their soldiers to live and fight in. Trenches were deep ditches dug in the ground that were often cramped and dirty. As the dug trenches further forward, they would take more land in the battle.

This was a very slow process and often would result in tens of thousands of casualties for a few yards of land. This is especially true because of the heavy use of mounted machine guns that both sides of the war used. These guns would tear through enemies easily. This style of warfare was also vulnerable to bombings and gas attacks, as the soldiers were stuck in the trenches and the heavy poisonous gasses would sink into the trenches.
