Hey I think the answer to your problem is eighter c or d! I think the real answer is: biker 1 travels 40 miles in 4 hours from the graph so it travels 10 miles per hour and 30 miles for 3 hours. biker 2 travels 45 miles in 5 hours from the graph so it travels 9 miles per hour and 27 miles for 3 hours. Therefore, third biker is slower than both of them. it is A.

5) Find the area of a rectangle<br> with points at (-8,5), (2,5),<br> (2,-3) and (-8,-3).
Lady bird [3.3K]

Answer:

80 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given <u>vertices</u> of a rectangle:

  • A = (-8, 5)
  • B = (2, 5)
  • C = (2, -3)
  • D = (-8, -3)

As points A and D share the <u>same x-coordinate</u>, and points B and C share the <u>same x-coordinate</u>, the difference between the different <u>x-coordinates</u> is the length of the rectangle:

\begin{aligned}\implies \textsf{Length} & = x_B-x_A\\& = 2-(-8)\\& = 2+8\\& = 10\; \sf units\end{aligned}

As points A and B share the <u>same y-coordinate</u>, and points C and D share the <u>same y-coordinate</u>, the difference between the different <u>y-coordinates</u> is the width of the rectangle:

\begin{aligned}\implies \textsf{Width} & = y_A-y_D\\& = 5-(-3)\\& = 5+3\\& = 8\; \sf units\end{aligned}

Therefore:

\begin{aligned}\textsf{Area of a rectangle} & = \sf width \times length\\&=8 \times 10\\&=80 \sf \; units^2\end{aligned}

Can someone help me with this math homework please!
sladkih [1.3K]

Answer:

1st option.

0 to 100 miles per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

as we can see the question states that a particular car' s gas mileage DEPENDS upon its speed.

Since, the independent variable is the domain of the function the speed of the car will act as the domain of the given function.

out of all the option option 1 gives us values of speed( cause its unit is miles/ hour - unit of speed).

so the domain is

0 to 100 miles per hour.
