Answer:

The slope is -4.

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope formula:

\displaystyle \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}=\frac{rise}{run}

\displaystyle \frac{(-9)-(-5)}{1-0}=\frac{-4}{1}=-4

Therefore, the slope is -4, and the correct answer is -4.

Hope this helps!

Don’t worry you’ll eventually get the hang of it once you keep trying!

So first use this formula: y2-y1/x2-x1
Then you’ll get your slope! = -4

Second choose a point and plug it into the point-slope formula: y-y1=m(x-x1)

Then solve and you get> y=-4x-5
In slope-intercept form: y=-4x-5

Please help, find AB
Rom4ik [11]
AB would equal 3.57 or 3.6 rounded as your directions ask because the sides are supposed to be proportional. When you do 21/5, you get 4.2. Then, you can just do 15/4.2 and get 3.57.

Hi, Please i need help with this question. Workings would be deeply appreciated .
kupik [55]

Answer:

k = ⅕

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope-intercept equation for a straight line is

y = mx + b, where

m = the slope and

b = the y-intercept

Data:

(3,4)     = a point on the line

(3k,0)   = x-intercept

(0,-5k) = y-intercept

Calculations:

1. Slope

m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁) = (-5k - 0)/(0 - 3k) = -5/(-3) = ⁵/₃

This makes the equation

y = ⁵/₃x - 5k

2. k

Insert the value of the known point: (3,4)

4 = (⁵/₃)(3) - 5k

4 = 5 - 5k

-1 = -5k

k = ⅕

The figure below shows your graph passing through (3,4) with intercepts 3k and -5k on the x- and y-axes respectively .
