They were viewed as threats and in the way of what the settlers wanted, colonists wanted to start a new world in America and the native Americans way of life got in their way.
The us constitution took away and limited the rights of the native Americans, such as taking there land.

Overall westward expansion was great for white settlers but not good at all for native Americans. Settlers had more land and more room to grow and spread out over America, but forced natives off there land and to give up there ways of life.
