This was an
ideal place to study the evolution of the finches because basically due to Daphne's climatic
conditions, they found a natural environment with an extreme
climate, oscillating between periods of severe drought and abundant rainfall,
as well as an uncontaminated environment that had never been visited by humans,
which provided a wide natural selection for research on finches.
