This is a PROPER fraction.

It has the numerator (number on top) being less than the denominator (number on bottom) so that means it is a proper fraction.

BUT WAIT!

A mixed fraction usually is a proper fraction as well! How do we know the difference?

A mixed fraction is written as (this is an example) 2 \frac{5}{8}.

Notice that number dangling to the left? That is why it is known as a mixed fraction because it involved multiplication (the 2) and division (5 and the 8).

So this answer is PROPER FRACTION.

Answer: Proper fraction.

Step-by-step explanation:

A fraction is said to be a proper fraction if its numerator is less that the denominator.

A fraction is said to be a improper fraction if its numerator is greater that the denominator.

The improper fraction can be written as mixed fraction but proper fraction cannot be written as mixed fraction.

The given fraction is \frac{4}{5}

Here, numerator = 4

Denominator = 5

Clearly, 5>4

Therefore, the given fraction is a proper fraction.

Ava deposited $3,500 in an account that earned 4.375% interest
Bumek [7]

Answer:

4335.61

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the equation A = P (1 + r/n)^nt

lets fill  in the variables,

P (principal) is 3500.00

r (rate) is .04375  - we do this in decimal form

n (number of times interest is doubled) here it is annually, could be monthly or daily too, but we are told annually, so we use 1

t (time) is 5 years

So:   3500(1+.04375/1) ^ 1(5)

pemdas

parenthesis first 1 +.04375/1 = 1.04375

exponents next 1 x 5 = 5

so now we have 3500 (1.04375) ^5

take 1.04375 to the power of 5 (pemdas) then multiplication

= 3500(1.2387465058)  or

A = 4335.61

This is the same result as calculating simple interest for 5 years but each year calculating off the new Principal amount that includes interest.

3500 x  .04375 = 153.125  or 3653.125   *(year one)

159.82 = 3812.95

166.82 = 3979.77

174.11 = 4153.88

181.73 = 4335.61

Paco bought 3 CDs that cost d dollars each and a pack of gum for C cents. Write an expression for the total cost of his purchase
cupoosta [38]

Answer:

The correct option is A) 3d+C.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Paco bought 3 CDs that cost d dollars each.

Let d is the cost of each CDs.

The cost of 3 CDs will be 3 times of d.

This can be written as:

3d

He bought a pack of gum for C cent. Thus, we can say that the cost of pack of gum is C.

Now add the cost of gum in above expression.

3d+C

Hence, the required expression is 3d+C.

Thus, the correct option is A) 3d+C.
