What is the difference between a paraphrase and a summary?

English
2 answers:

Paraphrasing, is to restate text in your own words, you do not use quotes while paraphrasing. A summary should include the main idea of a text. Therefore, your correct answer is B, A paraphrase restates the same information in a different way, whereas a summary only restates the main ideas.

Hope this helps! <3

Have you ever had an experience when you couldn't understand what someone was saying due to their poor diction? How did you over
uysha [10]
Yes, I have had that experience. I overcame it by asking what they meant. It hurt me, but when I asked them what they meant they stopped. Now we are friends. We go everywhere together. We have parties, sleepovers, and movie nights. Once I have used poor diction on accident. The person I used it on never forgave me. I am very sorry about that right now. From that moment, I have been careful with my diction. Whenever I think of saying a poor diction, I stop and think, should I, or should I just keep quiet. I always choose to keep quiet, so that I don't hurt someone's feelings.

Evaluate the ending of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, book
sesenic [268]
This is my personal opinion:
also *SPOILERS*

The ending of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was good. It reveled enough to keep the reader wanting to come back for the next book, but not enough to push the reader away.

There is a lot of action building up to the final moments before the book ending. And by the book being in first person point of view, we cannot tell what is going on to anyone besides Katniss. So any reader is unaware that Peeta is alive. There's always the possibility that he may be, but no one is aware from this. By doing this the Author creates suspense and keeps the reader, well reading.

For example, after Katniss shots the arrow into the shield she is knocked unconscious, thus leaving the reader wondering if the plan worked.

When Katniss awakes we find out that her plan did work. However there is more suspense because her home, has been decimated. And we, the readers are unaware whom, if anyone, has survived.

sorry I couldn't come up with more examples, it's been a while since I read the book

Which period time would you live in and why
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer: The 80s. The 80s has some of the BEST music of all time in my opinion. I mean there was Michael Jackson, shall I say anymore? During that era there was not that much technology or social media and I think living like that would be so cool and just relaxing. The fashion was amazing, and everything vintage was so cool. You could hang out after after school at arcades and malls which just seems like a dream to me. Anyways I could go on forever but I'll just save you from that.
