The correct answers are B) He will spend one extra hour on homework and give up watching TV and D) He will play his favorite game for one hour and do homework for two hours.

The options for dealing with this situation that is a trade-off of Ray’s time are the following:  He will spend one extra hour on homework and give up watching TV and he will play his favorite game for one hour and do homework for two hours.

First, let's give a simple definition of trade-off. It is when you give up something you like in other to obtain another important thing you need to do. You are expecting one desirable thing but you have to exchange it for other things that in that precise moment represent more value or it is a priority for you.

That is why Ray has to set priorities in order to do homework and have good grades. The priority is school, the math homework and good grades. That is why he has to give up part of his leisure time in order to invest the right amount of time in studying and homework.

What led to the passage of the Alien and Sedition Acts? What made them so controversial?
balandron [24]

The Alien and Sedition Acts (1798) were four laws passed by Federalists that restricted the activities of foreign residents in the country, allowed the government to deport foreigners seen as "dangerous", made it difficult for immigrants to vote, requiring them to reside for 14 years in the U.S. to become eligible to vote, and it prohibited public opposition to the government.

1. What led to the passage of the Alien and Sedition Acts?

The Acts were passed after the diplomatic incident called "XYZ Affair" that almost involved the United States and France in war. Facing French foreign threat, the Federalist President Adams created the acts as a way to prevent subversion in the United States against governmental measures.

2. What made them so controversial?

The Acts, especially the Sedition Act, were so controversial because it violated people's rights of freedom of speech and of the press protected under the First Amendment. Under the acts, anyone who wrote, printed, uttered or published any writing seen as false, scandalous and malicious against the government could be imprisoned or would have to pay fines.

I don’t know what number but I can help.

Say the phone was $271 and it went up ten percent

Try taking 200 and it’s 10% more. If you don’t know you take the first two digits and add a decimal in front of the last zero. You have 20 dollars. If you do that with the $271 do this $27.10 because if you take the first two digits and add a decimal before the one you have $27.1
