Each piece will be 5 inches long because in each feet there is 12 inches so 12 times 5 equals 60 and 60 divided by 9 equals 6.66666666667 and that will be estimated to either each piece 5 inches or 6 inches long

Given 15 cot A = 8, find sin A and sec A.
pogonyaev

Answer:

sin A = 15/17

sec A = 17/8

Step-by-step explanation:

15 cot A = 8

First get cot A alone.

cot A = 8 / 15

Since cot is the reciprocal of tan then flip 15 and 8.

tan A = 15 / 8

Now you have the opposite and adjacent sides, just find the hypotenuse with Pythagorean's theorem

15^2 + 8^2 = 289

\sqrt{289} = 17

Now that you have all the sides use the opposite and hypotenuse to get sine and the adjacent and hypotenuse to get cosine then flip to get secant.

sin A = 15/17

cos A = 8/17

sec A = 17/8

The length of a rectangle is twice its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 54 in, find its area.
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer: 162 in²

Step-by-step explanation:

The factors of 54 are listed below:

  • 1
  • 2
  • 3
  • 6
  • 9
  • 18
  • 27
  • 54

18 and 9 are the two factors that when plugged into the equation below, equals 54:

l+l+w+w=P

This can also be written as:

(l*2)+(w*2)=P

So now that we have our two factors, we need to multiply them by each other to get our answer.

18 times 9 = 162

Our answer is 162

What is the surface area of this right prism?
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

Since the 'base' and 'top' of any prism have the same shape, the surface area can be found by

surface area of prism = 2 * area of base + perimeter of base * H

So for the rectangular prism in your example..

surface area = 2LW + 2(L+W)H

= 2 * 7 * 4 + 2*(7+4)*5

= 56 + 2 * 11 * 5

= 56 +110

= 166 sq cm

Hope this helps
