He could type 3 3/7 in one hour.I think this because since it is 1/3 you would have to multiply it by 3.So you multiply 1/3 by 3,It would give one hour. When you multiply 1 1/7 by 3 it would give you 3 3/7.

Without using a calculator, determine the number of real zeros of the function
kumpel [21]

The number of real zeros of the function f(x) = x3 + 4x2 + x − 6 is 3

<h3>How to determine the number of real zeros?</h3>

The equation of the function is given as:

f(x) = x^3 + 4x^2 + x - 6

Expand the function

f(x) = x^3 + 5x^2 - x^2 + 6x - 5x - 6

Reorder the terms

f(x) = x^3 + 5x^2 + 6x - x^2 - 5x - 6

Factor the expression

f(x) = x(x^2 + 5x + 6) -1(x^2 + 5x + 6)

Factor out x -1

f(x) = (x^2 + 5x + 6)(x -1)

Expand

f(x) = (x^2 + 3x + 2x + 6)(x -1)

Factorize

f(x) = [x(x + 3) + 2(x + 3)](x - 1)

Factor out x + 2

f(x) = (x + 3)(x + 2)(x- 1)

The function has been completely factored and it has 3 linear factors

Hence, the number of real zeros of the function f(x) = x3 + 4x2 + x − 6 is 3

A code consists of a digit chosen from 0 to 9 followed by a letter of the alphabet. What is the probability that the code is 9Z?
mart [117]

0.0038  is the probability that the code is 9Z.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Here we have , A code consists of a digit chosen from 0 to 9 followed by a letter of the alphabet. We need to find What is the probability that the code is 9Z . Let's find out:

A code consists of a digit between 0-9 , i.e. there are 10 choices . And followed by a letter i.e. from A-Z having 26 choices ! So combinations possible are :

0{A-Z}=26

1{A-Z} = 26

2{A-Z} = 26

3{ A-Z}=26

.......

9{A-Z}=26       or ,

⇒ 10(26)

⇒ 260

Now , 9Z is one combination ! So , probability :

⇒ \frac{1}{260}

⇒ 0.0038

Therefore , 0.0038  is the probability that the code is 9Z.

Why would a prism beat a sphere in a competition
Sonja [21]

Answer:

Because a prism has a flat-ish side, but a sphere is only circular. Also a sphere would be harder to control. (I think)
