What tragic examples does Tutu use to illustrate that his nation is a “sadly” divided society? How can you tell that Tutu is fai

Tutu claimed that people only supported their own point of view and whenever they were in trouble they would elevate it even higher instead of try to understand another man's point of view. He believed that the people need to gather around common ideas and goals and work together to achieve them instead of just chase what they believe is right.

Select the correct answer.
Schach [20]

Answer:

3

Explanation:

Sentence three is the best choice to introduce the topic because it relates to all the other sentences in an important way. As the primary topic of the entire passage is the white moose, the rarity of the animal, the range of the moose, and the relationship that the moose population has with humans, it is appropriate to mentioned the animal in the first sentence.

1.- Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verbs in brackets. Use the zero or first conditional. 1.- If there are d
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

1. If there are delays on the train, we will miss our flight.

2. When I use environmentally friendly products, I feel that i'm making a difference.

3. John usually goes to work by bike unless he wakes up late.

4. If you don't want to go to the concert, I'll give your ticket to someone.

5. Unless it rains, we will be at the match tomorrow.

6. If we don't change our behavior, our planet will die.

7. I won't say anything to Phil if you tell me not to.

Explanation:

Zero and first conditionals may look similar at first. Let's highlight their difference below:

- Zero conditional uses the present tense or the present continuous. Its purpose is to talk about what generally happens, what is usually true. For instance, saving electricity is good for the environment. Therefore, we could say: "If you save electricity, you are helping our planet."

- First conditional uses the present tense for the condition, but the future tense for the consequence. Its purpose is to talk about a specific situation. For example, your father may have told you he will give you a present if you save electricity. Therefore: "If you save electricity, your father will buy you a guitar."

How does the alliteration in line 6 affect the poem's tone? It creates an elusive tone that emphasizes how foreign the moon is.
Airida [17]

Answer:

The alliteration affects the poem's tone because:

It creates a soft and tranquil tone that emphasizes the moon's quietness.

Explanation:

This is the poem we are analyzing:

All up and down the dunes,

the tall green grasses dance,

as the wind plays lively tunes

across the sandy expanse.

But the moon above is a statue,

silent and somber and still,

its reflection on the sea is a tattoo,

that we watch from upon the hill.

To answer this question, we must pay attention to both to the alliteration itself and the general message of the poem, otherwise we might be tempted to choose the option that says the moon is eerie and sinister.

Notice that, in line 6, the alliteration consists of the repetition of the phoneme /s/. This phoneme is often used to convey softness and quietness, or even a sense of soothing.

Besides that, the two stanzas of the poem contrast with each other. The first one describes a lively scene, filled with movement. The second one, on the other hand, emphasizes how quiet, how still the moon is. While the grasses dance and the wind sings, the moon remains silent.

For that reason, the best option is: It creates a soft and tranquil tone that emphasizes the moon's quietness.
