What are two ways gravity contributes to erosion?

Biology
1 answer:
damaskus [11]3 years ago

Gravity causes erosion by pulling dirt, rocks and soil downward. For ex: as water mixes with dirt to form soft mud, the mud cannot support itself against the force of the gravity pushing down onto it.
Also gravity is the cause of precipitation and the water cycle, causing the rain causes dirt, rocks etc to be washed away.

The 'G' in the universal gravitation formula
shutvik [7]

b. Gravitational constant

Explanation:

G in the universal gravitation formula represents the gravitation constant. It's value is  2.071×10⁻⁴³ s²⋅m⁻¹⋅kg⁻¹.

  • The law of universal gravitation states that "the gravitational force between two bodies is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance separating them".

Mathematically, the law is expressed as:

            F = G\frac{m_{1} m_{2}  }{r^{2} }

Where F is the gravitational force

            G is the gravitational constant

            r is the distance

            m is the mass 1 and 2 bodies
