Lowering salaries cannot do any good to the productivity because of the workers will loss the urge to do well. Reduction of workforce will also decrease the production. Selling assets cannot affect that much to the production. However, the investment of capital will allow the company to do some adjustments and improvements including the productivity.

Trava [24]

Complete question :

Your company has sales of $101,500 this year and cost of goods sold of $66,300. You forecast sales to increase to $118,900 next year. Using the percent of sales method, forecast next year's cost of goods sold. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 temporarily allows 100% bonus depreciation (effectively expensing capital expenditures). However, we will still include depreciation forecasting in this chapter and in these problems in anticipation of the return of standard depreciation practices during your career The forecasted cost of goods sold (COGS) is $ ___________ (Round to the nearest dollar.)

Answer:

$77,666

Explanation:

Given the following :

Sales for the year = $101,500

Cost of goods sold =$66,300

Forecasted increase in sales for next year = $118,900

Forecasted cost of goods sold for next year =?

Percentage cost of goods sold for this year:

Cost of goods sold / sales for this year

$66300/$101500

= 0.6532019

Forecasted cost of goods sold for next year:

(Forecasted increase in next year's sale * % cost of goods sold for this year)

= 118,900 * 0.6532019

= $77665.714

= $77666 ( nearest dollar)

Suppose that the government wishes to decrease the market equilibrium monthly rent by increasing the supply the housing. Assumin
Allisa [31]

Answer:

  • ,000 new apartments will make the equilibrium price = $1,500
  • 10,000 new apartments will make the equilibrium price = $1,000
  • 15,000 new apartments will make the equilibrium price = $500

Explanation:

Rent Demand Supply

2,500.00 10000 15000

2,000.00 12500 12500

1,500.00 15000 10000

1,000.00 17500 7500

500.00 20000 5000

The equilibrium quantity is 12,500 apartments with a $2,000 rent per month. If the government wants to lower the equilibrium rent price by increasing the supply of apartments, then it must build:

  • 5,000 new apartments will make the equilibrium price = $1,500
  • 10,000 new apartments will make the equilibrium price = $1,000
  • 15,000 new apartments will make the equilibrium price = $500

Swifty Corporation developed the following information about its inventories in applying the lower-of-cost-or-net-realizable-val
Hitman42 [59]

Answer:

the inventory value is $267,000

Explanation:

As we know that the inventory is valued at cost or market whichever is lower

As seen from the given information, the lesser value for all products are

Product A $87,000

Product B $58,000

Product B $122,000

So, the total is

= $87,000 + $58,000 + $122,000

= $267,000

hence, the inventory value is $267,000

Yard Tools manufactures lawnmowers, weed-trimmers, and chainsaws. Its sales mix and unit contribution margin are as follows. Sal
Damm [24]

Answer:

Total Break even sales = 154,000 units

Lawnmowers ($154,000 × 20%) = 30,800 Units

Weed-trimmers ($154,000 × 50%) = 77,000 units

Chainsaws ($154,000 × 30%) = 46,200 Units

Explanation:

As per the data given in the question, the computation is shown below:

Weighted contribution margin = Contribution margin × Sales mix

= (0.2 × 30) + (0.5 × $21) + (0.3 × $39)

= $28.2

Now, Total break even sales = Fixed cost ÷ Weighted contribution margin

= $4,342,800 ÷ $28.2

= 154,000 units

So classifications are as follows

Lawnmowers ($154,000 × 20%) = 30,800 Units

Weed-trimmers ($154,000 × 50%) = 77,000 units

Chainsaws ($154,000 × 30%) = 46,200 Units

We simply multiplied the total break even sales with each sales mix
