Ok so to find the answer to this you have to make both fractions have the same denominator.

To find the LCD (Least common denominator) follow these steps:

*Think: what number can be divided by both 9 and 5?

The answer is: 45 (shortcut way is to multiply both denominators by each other ie: 9 x 5)

Now make the numerators match:

For -3/5, the denominator (5) is multiplied by 9 to get 45, so the numerator (-3) has to also be multiplied by 9.

You get: -27/45

For 4/9, the denominator (9) is multiplied by 5 to get 45, so the numerator (4) has to also be multiplied by 5.

You get: 20/45

Now the problem looks like this:

-27/45 + 20/45

**Be sure to remember there is a negative sign!

Now we just add the numerators:

-27 + 20 = -7

(If you have trouble doing that remember that you can just subtract the positive number from the negative ie: 27-20 and then just re-add the negative sign)

Then just re-add the denominator:

-7/45

This cannot be simplified so this is the final answer!

Triangle E F G. Side E F is 6 meters, F G is 5 meters, E G is 7 meters. Angle F is 87 degrees and angle G is 58 degrees. Triangl
daser333 [38]

Answer:

 • Similar triangles

Step-by-step explanation:

Refer to attached

Given:

ΔEFG

 • EF =6 m, FG = 5m, EG = 7 m
 • ∠F = 87°, ∠G= 58°, ∠E = 180° -(87°+58°) = 35°

ΔLJK

 • KL= 28 m, LJ = 24 m, JK = 20 m
 • ∠J = 87°, ∠K = 58°, ∠L = 35°

We can see that:

 • ∠F≅∠J, ∠G ≅ ∠K, ∠E ≅ ∠L

and

 • KL/EG = LJ/EF = JK/FG = 28/7= 24/6= 20/5 = 4

So the corresponding angles are congruent and corresponding sides are similar

We can conclude that the triangles are similar

A carpenter have several boards of equal length. He cuts 3/5 of each boards .After cutting the boards the carpenter notices that
LenaWriter [7]
So the board is divided into 5 pieces, and 2/5 of the board is left. The leftovers equal 4 originals. This is equal to 4 times 5.
equation:
2/5(5x)=20
2x=20
x=10
He started with 10 boards.
Hope this helps!
