In the 1930s, as a reply to the increasing agitation in Europe and Asia that would eventually lead to World War II, the United States Congress passed the Neutrality Acts. These were impelled by the growing isolationism and non-interventionism policy that followed the expensive involvement in World War I and aimed to guarantee that the country would not become compromised over foreign conflicts again.

In 1941 the Neutrality Acts were widely repealed. The Lend-Lease policy aimed to defeat Germany, Japan, and Italy by distributing supplies between 1941 and 1945 put an end to the United States' pretense of neutrality.

The correct answer is: "the Enlightment period".

The Enlighment movement emerged in Europe and was constituted by philosophers that promoted Reason and the scientific method over medieval superstition and religious dogmas, and the establishment of democratic societies where the power resided on its people, and not in monarchs or rulers "appointed by God". The resulting states enacted bills of civil rights for the first time in history, and implemented principles such as the division of powers or the social contract, through which citizens elected their governors by suffrage.

Such Enlightment principles were transferred to the American colonies, where the population claimed for political representation rather than being governed by foreigners that were appointed by a foreign king. Such claims were ignored and, influenced by the new democratic principles, the revolutionary movements for independence aroused.

Ann [662]

The correct answer is D) Russia must stop fighting in World War l to end the death and starvation the war has brought.

The other options of the question were A) The czarist system is a Russian tradition that should be reformed but not eliminated. B) Russia should do whatever is necessary to make its government resemble Great Britain's. C) There is never any justification for protesters to use violence to achieve their political aims

A supporter of the Bolsheviks would most likely agree with the following statement: "Russia must stop fighting in World War l to end the death and starvation the war has brought."

In Russia, in the 1920s, the Bolsheviks were the political party that supported the ideas of Karl Marx and were convinced that the proletarian or the people should free themselves from the oppression of the wealthy people. Their political rivals were the Mensheviks. And yes, the Bolsheviks would definitely oppose the participation of Russia in World War 1 for all the damage, pain, and poverty that it caused to Russian people.

Why would someone who is studying the history or culture of this time period Find this text interesting important or useful
shusha [124]
I can't see the text but as for your question most of the history in the history books seem (to most) to have happened a lifetime ago so they don't really see how it retains to them and their lives. They live in the present time so they want present events. I believe that although past history is important to learn, we must also take notice of the historic events that are taking place right now. It lets us know what countries are doing (I.e war, trade, ect.) as well as our own and how we are involved in the affairs we are currently in. Most importantly it as a lesson and a reminder to the future generations on how certain events caused certain destruction. It is a stain in time so to speak so they will not take the action's we took in the past to lead them to the repetition of our past and current mistakes.

Why was the system of alliances in Europe before the First World War a threat to peace?Immersive Reader (25 Points) because a co
lakkis [162]

The correct answer is C) because an attack on one country could lead to that country's allies becoming involved in the conflict.

The system of alliances in Europe before the First World War was a threat to peace because an attack on one country could lead to that country's allies becoming involved in the conflict.

This system of alliances was created to form a more solid front with the union of different nations that tried to maintain or defend their economic and political interests in Europe. So if one of those nations had conflicts with its enemy, it would receive the support of its allies.

That is how France, Great Britain, Russia, and the United States formed teh Allied Powers.

On the other hand, Austria-Hungary, Germany, and Italy formed the Triple Alliance. Italy left prior to WWI. The Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria entered the alliance prior to World War I. They were known as the Central Powers.
