Answer:

Blood is thicker than water

Explanation:

In Sophocles 'Antigone', there is a strong love Antigone has for her siblings, she disobeyed Creon's order and went ahead to bury her brother Polynices even though he is considered an enemy of the state. She believes that the family tie she has with her brother and the higher law surpassed the law of Creon. this shows that blood is truly thicker than water.

Although Creon was her uncle, but she might not have been attached to him emotionally as she was with her brother, reason why she disobeyed her uncle, she also believes that the dead deserves respect and deserved to be buried.

Ismene, although in contrast with her sister Antigone's action but as the drama progressed, Ismene became supportive of her sister and said she has share in her brother's burial, this goes further to show that blood is thicker than water.
