A point is an exact location.
It has no length, width, or height.
It has no area or volume.
It has no mass, shape, or other physical properties.

As a model ...

-- you could use the period at the end of a sentence printed on paper.
     It looks like this  ==> ·

-- You could use the point of a very sharp pencil.

-- You could use the tiny dot that the point of
a very sharp pencil makes on paper.

-- You could use the point of a pin.

-- You could use the tiny hole that the point of
a pin makes in a sheet of paper.

These are all bigger than a real point.  They all have a little bit of size,
length, width, height, and you can see them.  But they get the idea across.
(They 'make the point'.)

a bus is traveling at a constant speed. if the bus travels 15 1/2 miles in 1/3 of an hour how many miles will the bus travel in
Andrei [34K]

Answer:

46 1/2 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Distance = 15 1/2 miles

Time = 1/3 hour

Distance =?

Time = 1 hour

Distance : time

15 1/2 miles : 1/3 hour = ? miles : 1 hour

31/2 miles ÷ 1/3 bout = x miles / 1 hour

31/2 × 3/1 = x / 1

93 /2 = x

x = 93/2 miles

= 46 1/2 miles

Therefore, the bus will travel 46 1/2 miles in an hour

Over what interval is the function of the graph
Svet_ta [14]

Answer:

1 ≤ x ≤ 6                             Option A

Step-by-step explanation:

When graph is constant it means, value of graph ( y-values)  not to be change different values of x in given interval.

In other words, graph must be parallel to the x axis is known as the constant graph.

A function is a measure of the rate of change of function values with respect to change in input values.

In given graph horizontal line is lie on the interval from x ≥ 1 to x ≤ 6.

So, option A is correct.

What is the inverse of this equation f(x) = 1/4(x+3)^2+2
Masja [62]

Answer:

y = √(4x - 8) - 3

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 1/4(x + 3)² + 2

To find the inverse, switch the places of the x and y.

x = 1/4(y + 3)² + 2

Solve for y.

x - 2 = (1/4(y + 3)² + 2) - 2

x - 2 = 1/4(y + 3)²

4(x - 2) = 4(1/4(y + 3)²)

4x - 8 = (y + 3)²

√(4x - 8) = √((y + 3)²)

√(4x - 8) = y + 3

√(4x - 8) - 3 = (y + 3) - 3

√(4x - 8) - 3 = y

y = √(4x - 8) - 3
