Jen hiked a mountain trail that is 9/10 mile from the base to the top. She took her first rest break 1/4 of the way to the top. How far, in miles, was Jen from the top at her first rest break? Explain your steps.

My method is finding a common denominator, and that would be forty. So, 9/10 equals 36/40 and 1/4 equals 10/40. Then you would do 36/40 - 10/40. That would equal 26/40, or in lowest form, 13/20. I think thats the answer
