So we know nothing about blank so we can infer that’s our X in this case

So 4/5x=2/5 do inverse multiplication for 4/5 to get rid of it from the left side so you’re left with

X=5/4*2/5 just multiply across and you get 10/20 now simplify

1/2

Answer:

1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Better write, "If (4/5)x = 2/5, what is x?  Please do not use 'x' to denote multiplication; use " * " instead.

If (4/5)x = 2/5, multiplying both sides by (5/4) will isolate x:

(5/4)(4/5)x = (5/4)(2/5), or

               x = 10/20, or x = 1/2.  The unknown number is 1/2.

3 times 4/5 can also be known as 3 times 4 over 5, which is 12 over 5.
12/5 can be simplified to 2 2/5 or 2.4. This is the answer to 3 * 4/5
And I have no idea how to draw a number line on a computer.

Virty [35]

Given:

4/5 of a pie left after their family picnic.

Each slice of pie was 1/15 of the total pie.

To find:

The number of remaining slices of pie.

Solution:

Let x be the number of remaining slices of pie.

Part of total pie in one slice = \dfrac{1}{15}

Remaining part of total pie in x slices = \dfrac{1}{15}x

According to the question, 4/5 of a pie left after their family picnic.

\dfrac{1}{15}x=\dfrac{4}{5}

Using cross multiplication, we get

5\times x=15\times 4

5x=60

Divide both sides by 5.

x=12

Therefore, the remaining number of slices of pie is 12.
