Second, simplify \frac{27}{3} to 9. / Your problem should look like: 4x - 7 = 9
Third, add 7 to both sides. / Your problem should look like: 4x = 9 + 7
Fourth, add 9 + 7 to get 16. / Your problem should look like: 4x = 16
Fifth, divide both sides by 4. (4 times 4 is 16) / Your problem should look like: x =  \frac{16}{4}

3(4x−7)=27

(3)(4x)+(3)(−7)=27(Distribute)

12x+−21=27

12x−21=27

Add 21 to both sides.

12x−21+21=27+21

12x=48

Divide both sides by 12.

12x/12=48/12

x=4
