Some of its major exponents around the world are: Edgar Allan Poe,  Nathaniel Hawthorne,Johann Wolfgang von Goethe,  William Wordsworth and  <span>François-René de Chateaubriand
- Romantic visual arts: Most of the scholars said it was around the 1760's where this type of art began. You can see many of visual arts of romantics until the late 1800's. Its major exponents are: </span> Caspar David Friedrich, M. W. Turner, Anne-Louis Girodet de Roussy-Trioson, Antoine-Augustin Préault, Francisco Goya,  Eugène Delacroix, and <span>Thomas Cole.
