Answer:

Yes, I think this is an effective anti-war poem

Explanation:

It uses lots of different techniques to capture the attention of the audience, including repetition of the words 'no' and 'nor'-this creates a negative feeling. The use of negative adjective within the poem such as 'monstrous' highlights the negative impacts of war. The word monstrous has connotations to something being ugly, frightening, and inhuman and by imagining this scenario (the writer also uses imagery), the writer creates a petrifying  atmosphere for the soldiers involved that makes the reader feel worried and anxious for them.

The poem also touches on soldiers saying goodbye to their loved ones- and the thought of your loved one never coming back gives a sense of grief and discomfort to the reader, that reminds them of how war can affect everyone. The title 'Anthem for the Doomed Youth' also suggests the fate for the young soldiers was death as well as being faced with some of the worst monstrosities.

These lines may vary depending on type of poem being crafted?( line)(stanza)(rhythm)(imagery)(density)(symbolism)(theme)(symboli
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

stanza

Explanation:

The number of lines within a stanza can change depending on the type of poem and even the type of stanza the peta wants to make. Sonnets, for example, present 4 stanzas with different numbers of lines between them. Other types of poems have a free pattern of lines that depend on the choice of the author for that theme.

The stanzas are named by the number of lines it has, so we can classify them as: couplet (2 lines), tercet (3 lines), quatrain (4 lines), cinquain (5 lines), sestet (6 lines, sometimes it's called a sexain), septet (7 lines), octave (8 lines).
