Confucianism is a system of ethics, politics and philosophy from China. At the heart of Confucianism is a deep sense of humanity (ren), which means action, given the sensitivity of human relations. Confucius gave priority to the relationship between parent and child. In his view, the child had to show sonship, that is, to be obedient and conscientious to his parents, and the parents owed him love and care. This relationship was also reflected elsewhere, such as in the relationship between a man and a woman or between a ruler and a minister. Complete equality was only possible between friends. Confucianism also emphasizes human virtues such as loyalty, justice, and directness.
