1. They present a statement signed by 91 people as evidence against the girls. The people that signed state that neither Rebecca Nurse or Elizabeth Proctor engaged in witchcraft.

2. Every time Abigail is at risk of being caught, she fakes something is happening as a diversion. At that time, she pretends to see a spirit bird flying around the courtroom. She claims that it is Mary's spirit.

3. He points out that people fear the court: "We cannot blink it anymore. There is a prodigious fear of this court in the country." Proctor is being questioned without a lawyer, causing him to storm out and denounce the proceedings at the end of Act III. Hale also protests that no one can question the court. He says to Parris, "Is everything defense an attack upon the court? Can no one-?"

4. For Deputy Governor Danford, he is stern about his conviction - the court is doing the service of God. He believes that the court is with God, so that anyone against the court is against God. By this, no one can claim the court is wrong and be innocent at the same time.

5. He excuses Elizabeth's lie about Abigail's affair because it was justifiable cause. He states that she lied to protect her husband.

Answer:

From “The Crucial” American play, we can conclude the following:

Explanation:

1. All of them, Giles, Francis and Proctor, brought evidence to prove that their wives were innocent and the girls were lying. For instance, Francis Nurse, Rebecca’s husband, brought a petition signed by 91 people which declared that Rebecca Nurse, Elizabeth Proctor, and Martha Corey were good Christian people.

2. She pretends he sees a bird spirit, who was supposed to be Mary’s spirit, flying around the court room. According to her, the spirit is trying to attack her.

3. Reverend John Hale, the intellectual, naïve witch-hunter, showed his dissatisfaction with the court by: 1) saying "I denounce these proceedings, I quit this court.”, 2) slamming the door of the court as he leaves, and 3) pointing out directly at Abigail and the girls telling Danforth, "you cannot believe them!"

4. To my mind, this line uttered by Deputy Governor Danforth make me realise that he is a stern man who wants to follow the rules of the court. His belief is a very black and white perspective, not allowing for corruption among the magistrates or ulterior motives on the part of the accusing girls or their families.

5. Reverend Hale said that it was a natural lie because Elizabeth’s only purpose was to save her husband.

Who publicly questioned some of the Puritan ministers' beliefs?
Debora [2.8K]

Anne Hutchinson & Roger Williams publicly questioned some of the Puritan ministers' beliefs

Explanation:

Anne Hutchinson was celebrated as one of the early settlers of the Massachusetts Colony who was exiled from Boston in 1637 for her strict and women's activist convictions and fled to the Rhode Island Colony.

Roger Williams freely scrutinised a portion of the Puritan clergymen convictions. Puritan clergymen involved a focal job in their general public.

While Puritanism focused on the idea of the calling, which asserted that all work was divine, the control of clergyman was especially significant. Priests made it their motivation to translate sacred text for the individuals.

Nesterboy [21]
The correct answer is "two-thirds".

Violence is present in many programs, as it is considered that without violence, many viewers would loose interest, as there would not be enough "action". this lead to a normalization of violence where violence became less shocking and more present. Some forms of violence is also present in programs for children, such as cartoons.
