The oil tends to contain toxic substances such as lead, cadmium and chlorine compounds, which has a great capacity for environmental deterioration. This oil produces a waterproof film, which prevents oxygenation and can suffocate the living beings that live there. On the other hand. used oil, having a low biodegradability index, can seriously affect the biological treatments of water treatment plants, even disabling them.
